Acne, also called acne vulgaris, is a chronic skin condition that occurs when the hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. Acne most commonly appears on the face, neck, chest, back and shoulders. Most people with acne are aged between 12 and 25, but some older and younger people are affected.
Depending on the degree of your Acne, our dermatologist may recommend one or more of the following: creams to be applied at home, antibiotics, medical facials, Hydrafacial, LED light therapy, or in more severe cases, he may chose to perform a medium-depth chemical peel.
In certain situations, especially when the acne is causing scarring, a course of Isotretinoin must be prescribed to the patient.
Cosmetic Botox® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults younger than 65 years of age for a short period of time. Botox® blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can’t contract. That makes the wrinkles relax and soften.
Botox® is most often used on forehead lines, lower part of the face, neck, crow’s feet (lines around the eye) and frown lines as well as masseter. The effects from Botox® will last three to six months depending on the age of the patient and the strength of the muscle being treated. As muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again. With repeated treatments, the lines and wrinkles often appear less severe with time because the muscles are being trained to relax.
Temporary bruising is the most common side effect of Botox®. Headaches, which end in 24 to 48 hours, can happen, but this is rare.
Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) is a common medical condition that can be very effectively treated with Botox®. The procedure is done to reduce sweating in the palms, feet and in the armpits areas and results can last for 6 to 10 months.
Have you ever heard about “Nefertiti Lift”? Botox® is also used to achieve a non-surgical lower face lift with striking results in select patients. This procedure will help lift sagging jowls, soften marionette lines and sharpen the jaw line.
Do you excessively bite and grind on your teeth while sleeping? Botox® can relax the muscle responsible for this troublesome condition and help alleviate
The term cellulite describes fat deposited in pockets close to the skin surface, commonly focused around the thighs, buttocks and hips.
At Dr. Kayle Aesthetic Clinic, we use with a unique multi-application Radio Frequency (RF) based platform that provide therapeutic heat at different tissue depths (dermal and sub-dermal tissue) within the body for the non-invasive treatment of wrinkles and the reduction in the appearance of cellulite that is virtually painless.
Treatment sessions last about 30 minutes, to one hour. Usually patients notice changes within 4 sessions. The average number of treatments is 8 to 12 for maximum results.
Chemical peeling is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin that is typically performed on the face, neck, hands or any area of the body. In this treatment, a chemical solution is applied to the skin that causes it to eventually peel off. The new, regenerated skin is usually smoother, more even-toned, and less wrinkled than the older skin. The new skin is also temporarily more sensitive to the sun. There are 3 types of chemical peels: deep peeling, medium peeling and superficial peeling. Superficial chemical peeing is mild as it treats only the outer layers of the skin. It can be beneficial in treating mild cases of acne and in providing a general glow to the face. Deep and medium chemical peelings are to be performed only by specialized physicians with high level of expertise. The most common candidate for a chemical peel is a person with Acne, sun-damaged skin, uneven pigmentation, and/or very early precursor for skin cancers called actinic keratoses. Chemical peels can also be used to treat other areas of the body such as the neck, décolleté,
hands, arms, shoulders, and back.
Many people are not satisfied with their body’s shape because of excess fat, cellulite or loose skin.
BEAM technology accurately & precisely imitates the body’s Bio-Electrical process by sending pre-defined electrical pulses through the nervous system. Muscles are activated; blood circulation and metabolism are increased.
This procedure can reduce abdominal circumference by as much as 4 cm in a single treatment and long lasting results can be attained in only 4 to 5 weeks. There are no side effects so the patient can resume his/her daily activities immediately after the treatment.
Another technology is a unique, multi-application Radio Frequency (RF) based platform that provides therapeutic heat at different tissue depths (dermal and sub-dermal tissue) that is virtually painless.
Treatment sessions last about 30 minutes, to one hour. The practitioner focuses on your problem areas, but time is given to other areas to stimulate circulation and fatty acid elimination. Usually patients notice changes within 4 sessions. The average number of treatments is 8 to 12 for maximum results.
We’re now offering a viable alternative for those who cannot or simply do not want to deal with a liposuction surgery.
DKAC specialists operate with the only technology that effectively kills fat cells instead of only emptying their content of fat. It is a non-invasive procedure for localized fat reduction that simply targets, cools, and eliminates fat cells without damage to the surrounding skin and tissues.
Depending on the thickness of the fat tissues and the desired result, 1 to 3 sessions may be required. Ideally, the interval between sessions is about 45 days. Some results may be visible as early as 15 days, but usually a period of 12 weeks is required for the full result to show. With regular exercise and diet, the long-term results should be sustainable.
The procedure is not painful. The patient can resume his/her normal activities immediately after the treatment without any significant discomfort.
What makes our slimming concept stand out at DKAC? It is the well-chosen combination of technologies (RF, CRYOLIPOLYSIS, and BEAM) for optimal results.
As the face ages, we suffer from dropping of the eyebrows. This will make the excess upper eyelid skin even more noticeable.
Depending on the degree and the age of the patient. Non-surgical eyebrow lifting can usually be achieved through one or more of the following procedures:
Botox® treatment which will help counteract the effect of a muscle known as orbicularis oculi (a circular muscle around the eye). Thus, lifting the eyebrow.
Fillers to the upper eyelid area. This will help to lift the eyebrow and to give it more volume and better definition.
Thread lifting of the eyebrow through resorbable sutures.
Skin tightening devices applied to the upper eyelid and forehead area such as Sublative Rejuvenation and Sublime Rejuvenation treatments.
Most commonly, combining 2 or more of the above treatments would give the best results
Fat Filling is the ultimate solution for treating all areas where more volume is needed, as well as plumbing wrinkles and folds. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be used for the same purposes; however, when a longer lasting filling is needed, fat is the solution. The treatment is done using the patient’s own fat, a fact that has many advantages:
- No possibility of having an allergic reaction.
- No possibility of rejection.
- More cost effective.
- Long lasting, semi-permanent.
It consists of performing liposuction for areas with extra fat, filtering the collected fat, and re-injecting the purified fat in the volume-deficient areas in the face.
The result is a full volume rejuvenation of the whole face, restoring its youth and regaining a harmonious and healthy appearance.
Down time is 4 or 5 days of swelling and mild bruising. The patient can resume his/her normal lifestyle by the end of the 5th Patients are highly satisfied as their self-esteem is greatly improved. Fat Filling is considered the Rolls Royce of fillers.
As we age, our face begins to show the effects of gravity, sun exposure and years of facial muscle movement. The underlying tissues that keep our skin looking youthful and plumped up begin to loosen up, thus exaggerating our laugh lines, smile lines, or facial creases.
Soft-tissue fillers can help fill in these lines and creases, temporarily restoring a smoother, more youthful-looking appearance. When injected beneath the skin, these fillers plump up creased and sunken areas of the face. They can also add fullness to the lips and cheeks.
Sometimes, and depending on the problem, an additional intervention can be added to the plan of treatment for best results. Keep in mind that, at Dr Kayle Aesthetic Clinic, we can offer you the full options of the most advanced treatments ranging from cosmetic surgery, refinishing techniques, laser therapy, Botox and fillers. You and your doctor can determine whether a single procedure or a combination of procedures is the best choice for you.
The most important fact to remember about injectable fillers is that the results are not permanent. We, at Dr Kayle Aesthetic Clinic, use and recommend hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid fillers last from 6 months to 1 year. We strongly advise against using permanent-type fillers anywhere in the face and body since they are associated with permanent complications.
The filler is injected using a fine needle inserted at the target area. You may be asked to hold a hand mirror during the procedure to share your doctor the decision as to when you’ve had enough.
After treatment: Occasionally some bruising or swelling will occur but it is usually minor.
You are free to eat, drink, and wear makeup with sunblock protection shortly thereafter.
You’ll be very satisfied with the results of your fillers treatments. You may be surprised at the pleasing results that can be gained from this procedure.
Non-ablative Skin Rejuvenation and Laser Toning will build collagen, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, improve acne scars, while evening the skin tone and texture.
All skin types can benefit from this type of treatment. Treatments are usually performed weekly, and a series of 7-10 treatments are recommended.
When your mirror reveals a dull tired skin, and you feel that you need to do something about it but you can’t afford a long down time, then a laser glow peel can be your best choice.
The Glow Peel remove the top tired layer of your skin, allowing a newer more fresh skin to emerge from underneath, and accelerating the skin’s own renewal process. This is done with utmost precision as far as the depth of action is concerned, which makes the treatment completely safe.
The Glow Peel help achieve a beautifully smooth skin at a near-no-downtime procedure (less than 1 day). It is appropriate for almost any patient. The Glow Peel will improve on fine wrinkles and pigmentory changes induced by sun damage.
Patients will end up with a glowing brighter and softer skin within 24 – 36 hours. They can then apply make-up, which in turn will sit better on the new skin.
Laser hair removal is a non-invasive, gentle, yet highly effective technique that reduces undesirable hair with no downtime. Sessions are done every 4 – 6 weeks. An average of seven to ten sessions is needed. DKAC provides its patients with both Alexandrite and Nd-YAG laser hair removal.
Alexandrite laser is widely believed to be the most effective hair removal platform available in the world today for all hair types. It is suitable for rapid treatment of large body areas in patients with light to olive complexions. We reserve Nd-YAG hair laser treatments for patients with darker skin types and thicker hair. Used in these cases, it is a very effective and safe treatment.
In laser resurfacing, sometimes called “laser peel”, laser is used to remove areas of damaged or wrinkled skin, layer by layer. The procedure is most commonly used to minimize the appearance of fine lines, especially around the mouth and the eyes.
First, the outer layers of damaged skin are stripped away. Then, as new cells form during the healing process, a smoother, tighter, younger – looking skin surface appears.
Individuals who have taken accutane in the past 12 months or are prone to abnormal (keloid-like) scarring or those with active skin infections on the treatment area may not be appropriate candidates for this procedure.
Before the procedure, and depending on your condition, your surgeon may recommend that you begin a pre-treatment plan to prepare the skin for resurfacing. Your surgeon may also instruct you to follow a specific maintenance regimen for long-term care of the skin to maximize the benefits of the procedure.
Laser resurfacing is performed in your surgeon’s office-based facility under local anesthesia. It usually takes anywhere from a few minutes to 1 hour, depending on how large of an area is involved.
After the procedure, you are likely to experience some mild swelling and discomfort after laser resurfacing. However, this can be controlled with ice packs and medications prescribed by your surgeon. A thin layer of ointment will be applied to the skin.
Redness may persist from 2 days to several weeks, depending on the depth of the peel. After about two weeks or so, most patients can safely apply makeup to conceal this temporary color change.
In the months following treatment, using sun protection regularly will help to maintain your results.
Laser skin resurfacing is an important contributor to patient’s increased self-esteem as it plays an important role in setting back the clock.
Our Laser treatment for varicose and spider veins involves applying bursts of laser-heat energy to problematic areas. This will close off unwanted veins causing them to slowly fade and disappear while leaving the surrounding tissue unaffected.
The treatment is non-surgical, and non-invasive. The areas most commonly treated are the face and lower extremities.
Sun avoidance and wearing a sunblock at all times throughout the treatment course is highly recommended.
For best results several laser vein treatments are needed.
When you have only two days to spare, and you want a treatment that can improve on your skin more than what you will get out of any micro-dermabrasion, facial or light peel, then the Laser Week-End Peel is your best friend.
It will help you improve on the following:
- Acne scars
- Pigmented lesions
- Lax skin
- Poor skin tone/texture
Laser Week-End Peel produces a fresher, smoother surface by painlessly vaporizing off the outer 20 microns of the dull, dead skin, compared to a treatment like micro-dermabrasion, which removes only about 10 microns of outer skin. Consequently, more improvement is achieved with texture, patchy pigment, sun damage, pore size appearance and fine lines. Treatments are painless when an anesthetic cream is used half an hour before.
Most patients will experience 2 days of redness similar to a sunburn after each session with some peeling expected on day 2. Patient can then enjoy a fresher younger skin. Results will continue to improve afterwards for several weeks. and treatments can be repeated monthly as desired.
Melasma is a common skin disorder where patches of dark skin appear on areas of the face exposed to the sun. It is most common in young women with brownish skin tone, but it can affect anyone. Dr. Lakis uses several treatments to improve the appearance of melasma that may include: Chemical peels, Sublative Rejuvenation, or laser treatments depending on the severity of the problem.
As with all types of pigmentation, the response rate depends on the depth of the pigment (melanin) inside the skin. As would be expected, more superficial pigmentation will respond better and fully.
Mesotherapy refers to the injection of different pharmaceutical solutions (usually vitamins and nutrients) either directly into the skin where cell repair and growth occurs (for skin rejuvenation, wrinkle treatment, hair growth stimulation…), or into the upper subcutaneous fatty tissue for the treatment of cellulite. Several sessions are typically needed in order to obtain good and long lasting results. Mesolift is the injection of a gel consisting of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid into the skin to provide it with deep hydration. One session is performed every month for a total of three sessions. Our Specialists prefer the use of Mesotherapy for hair growth stimulation, and Mesolift for, the treatment of wrinkles and the rejuvenation of the aging skin.
The non-surgical facelift uses non-invasive and minimally invasive techniques that typically freshen, tighten , and lift your skin and face, giving you a more youthful yet natural appearance.
No single device can perform a non-surgical facelift, it is a knowledgeable and tasteful combination of treatments.
At Dr. Kayle Aesthetic Clinic, we offer a customized treatment program that includes among others, volume lifting, thread lifting and skin tightening and rejuvenation with safe and proven technologies.
Photorejuvenation is a non-invasive, safe procedure that uses intense pulse light (IPL) to improve the quality and health of your skin. DKAC offers the IPL skin rejuvenation technology as a non-surgical solution that will help even skin color, clear facial redness (Rosacea) and pigmentation, and reverse sun damage. Furthermore, the heat energy will stimulate new collagen production, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, while firming the skin and shrinking the pores. Performed adequately, Photorejuvenation has minimal side effects and virtually no downtime. Treatments are usually performed every 1 to 2 weeks, and a series of 7-10 treatments are recommended for optimal results.
Sclerotherapy is a proven medical procedure that has been in use since the 1930s. It effectively treats varicose and spider veins and is often considered the treatment of choice for small varicose veins. Sclerotherapy involves injecting a solution directly into the vein.
The sclerotherapy solution causes the vein to scar and collapse, forcing blood to reroute through healthier veins. The collapsed vein is reabsorbed into local tissue and eventually fades. 50 percent to 80 percent of injected veins may be eliminated with each injection session.
The sclerotherapy procedure takes about 30 to 45 minutes. The treatment is safe, however, mild discomfort may occur when the veins are injected, and a cramping sensation may be felt for 1 to 2 minutes when larger veins are injected. . Bruising may also occur around the injection site and can last several days or weeks.
Patients should wear compression stockings for one to three weeks after treatment.
In Skin Laser Tightening , namely Nd-Yag, the laser energy will
stimulate shrinking of collagen fibers, smoothening lines and wrinkles,
while firming the skin and shrinking the pores.
Performed adequately, Skin Laser Tightening has minimal side effects
and virtually no downtime. Treatments are usually performed every 3 to 4
weeks, and a series of 6-7 treatments are recommended for optimal
“No guarantee that result will be the same as it might vary from one individual to another”
Stretch marks happen when the skin is pulled by rapid growth or stretching. Although the skin is usually fairly elastic, when it’s overstretched, the normal production of collagen and elastin is disrupted. As a result, scars called stretch marks may form. The areas of the body most often affected by stretch marks are the abdomen (tummy), buttocks and thighs.
Stretch Marks are notoriously difficult to treat. The aim of any treatment is to obtain a noticeable improvement of the marks rather than to remove them completely.
Several modalities of treatment are available, ranging from chemical peels, to lasers, and RF (radiofrequency) devices. All of them require more than one session, typically 5-7, to achieve the best results.
Our specialists believe that one of the best treatments currently available for stretch marks is the revolutionary Sublative technology, a non-invasive technique that uses radiofrequency to increase the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. This will lead to the shrinking, and smoothening of the stretch marks making them less visible..
DKAC presents a revolutionary device that offers a complete facial rejuvenation solution delivering effective and visible results with minimal downtime. It works by providing controlled heat deep into the dermis. This will cause immediate and long-term smoothening of wrinkles and improvement in facial contour.
The device combines 2 treatment modalities, which can be used separately or can be combined to deliver superior results.
The unique Sublative RF will help smooth wrinkles, scars, acne scars, stretch marks, and textural irregularities, as well as help reverse photodamage, even the skin tone, and firm the skin.
Sublime™ rejuvenation is indicated for the improvement of jowl laxity, neck laxity, sagging brow line, prominent nasolabial folds, and firming of certain body areas.
This is a tailor-made procedure performed by our highly skilled doctors to obtain both volume redistribution and skin lifting. The result is a visible reduction in the signs of aging in any area where the threads are placed.
Results will last for an average of two years with no adjuvant treatments.
Sweating is a normal and essential function of our bodies. In response to heat or elevated temperatures, the body sweats to keep itself cool and maintain a normal core temperature.
Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating is a common medical condition. It is defined as sweating beyond the physiological needs of the body. It most noticeably affects the palms of the hands, the sole of the feet and the armpits. Men are usually more badly affected than women. This condition can have a significant negative impact on work/productivity, leisure activities, and emotional well-being.
In milder cases of hyperhidrosis, in addition to deodorants and antiperspirants, certain changes in life style can be sometimes helpful, such as avoidance of additional stress and synthetic clothes, weight loss, and avoidance of spicy and excessively salted food. However, in more badly affected patients, these treatment modalities offer only marginal relief.
Hyperhidrosis can be very effectively treated with Botox®. The procedure is very safe and works by preventing the release of a chemical that signals the sweat glands to activate. Consequently, the sweat glands stop producing sweat altogether. Botox has been found to markedly improve the quality of life of patients afflicted with Hyperhidrosis. Results can last for 6 to 10 months.
