Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty also known as a Nose Job can reduce or increase the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip or bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between your nose and your upper lip. It may also correct a birth defect or injury.

Rhinoplasty Procedure

Rhinoplasty is performed in a hospital under general anesthesia. It usually takes two hours, though complicated procedures may take longer. During surgery, the skin of the nose is separated from its supporting framework of bone and cartilage, which is then sculpted to the desired shape. When the surgery is complete, a splint will be applied to help your nose maintain its new shape. Nasal packs may be placed in your nostrils to be removed the next day.

After The Surgery

You’ll notice that the swelling and bruising around your eyes will increase at first, reaching a peak after two or three days. Most of the swelling and bruising should disappear within two weeks. By the end of two weeks, all dressings, splints, and stitches will be removed. Most rhinoplasty patients are up and about within two days, and able to return to school or sedentary work a week or so following surgery.

Day by day, your nose will begin to look better and better. The final results of rhinoplasty will be at six months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any risks involved in Rhinoplasty?

Just like any major surgery, Rhinoplasty carries some risks such as bleeding, infection and maybe an adverse reaction to the anaesthesia. It’s best to discuss with the Doctor during the consultation about how these risks apply to you.

The immediate Rhinoplasty recovery time is 2 weeks, after which the patient can resume social activity. However, it is until six months that the healing process is completed and the new nose shape is fully refined.

We believe a comprehensive cost is a major trust build-up, and hence, the pricing is determined by the doctor upon consultation as per the desired scope of work.

The surgery is done under anaesthesia to make you more comfortable and hence, does not involve pain. Post-surgery, you may experience some discomfort in the initial stages of healing that can typically be moderated with pain medication.

The results of Rhinoplasty surgery will be long-lasting, while it may take six months for your nose to fully refine.

In few cases, correcting a deviated septum can actually reduce or stop snoring and even treat individuals with breathing disorders such as sleep apnea. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Dany Kayle to determine if this procedure is right for you.

In open Rhinoplasty, the plastic surgeon makes an incision on the inside of the nostrils and on the external strip of skin that unites the nostrils. The more preferred option by Dr Kayle is the closed Rhinoplasty where all of the incisions are made inside the nostrils. No scarring is seen and the recovery time is also a lot shorter.
